Clutch alignment tool – 1275cc

The tool is a “stepped” cylinder designed to mimic the gearbox input shaft. It features two distinct diameters:

  • The Pilot Nose: The smaller tip (approx. 0.500″) fits snugly into the pilot bushing (or spigot bearing) pressed into the rear of the crankshaft.

  • The Splined Section: The larger main body (approx. 0.625″) features 10 splines. These splines engage with the center hub of the clutch friction plate.

  • Note: For 1275cc engines, the spline count is almost always 10-spline, which is distinct from later 1275cc engines found in Minis that might use different configurations.
